A Totally Self-Serving Blog

For the past 8 or so years, my friend and colleague, Bo Morton, and I have been teaching an on-line grantwriting course, Get Grants.  During that time we have taught thousands of students, and while we occasionally get grumbles, generally our students are really happy with our course and oftentimes we’ve asked to do more. So now we have. We've taken what we teach in the class and expanded both the materials and the areas we talk about.  The book starts with helping you to see how ready your organization is for various types of grants.  Even if you are already getting grants, it's worthwhile to review your organization's funding patterns, accountability and data collection and internal systems to see if, indeed, a grant--or this particular grant--is the best answer for your funding need.

From that, we talk about planning--how to identify a need and then clarifying how you would address that need.

Based on your planning, we walk you through best practices in preparing proposals and how to ensure that yours is as effective as possible.  But as those who have been in this field for a long time, at the end of the day, it is about relationships.  Great writing is one thing;  getting funded is another.  Our final section addresses that--providing crucial pointers that will improve your chances to Get Grants.

Don't miss out.  Buy the book  http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/get-ready-get-set-get-grants/13223000.

Not only will you be increasing your grantwriting skills, you'll also be making Bo's and my kids proud.
